What do I do? I feel like I’m giving an honest effort and it’s not good enough. I got an audiobook. Hopefully I’ll learn the science of what’s going on inside my body. I cut my fat and sugar intake WAY down this week and there’s not a budge on the scale. I don’t eat much salt. I’m starting to feel hopeless.

That would be very frustrating. Don’t give up. Did you cut too far back on your calories? Are your muscles hanging onto water because they’re sore? I hope you figure it out.
Re your comment – typical Tawnya, looking at the science.
I don’t like to delve into that part – I want it to be as simple as “eat fewer calories than you expend”, lol. But it’s not. Low fat and sugar free foods are “supplemented” with ingredients trying to make up for the lack of fat/sugar (i.e., the flavor, lol) and those other ingredients aren’t so great for us either. I’d like to say I don’t bother buying the ‘lite’, ‘free’ or “reduced’ versions anything, but I do – the daily packet of Splenda in my tea, and diet soda are the major ones. Here’s an unrelated thought – is diet soda the only food that is called “diet”?
Fat isn’t the enemy, carbs are IMO. You are cutting down on fat and sugar but what is being substituted? Lean protein and GOOD fats are good for you
